I provide developmental editing, copyediting, transcribing, consulting, and book coaching for fiction and nonfiction through Open Boat Editing.  

Open Boat Editing provides services to nonfiction and fiction authors at every stage of the writing process. 

Our in-house team includes ghostwriters, book doctors, editors, researchers, coaches, copy editors, website and graphic designers, and more. We work regularly with a wide network of professionals, including copywriters, translators, genealogists, and specialized researchers.  

Whether you're in the proposal or researching stage, putting the final touches on your manuscript, or rolling out your marketing plan, we can help. LGBTQ+ stories and authors are especially welcome! 

Founder Evelyn M. Duffy is a devoted generalist and loves the incredible variety of books Open Boat Editing has assisted with bringing into the world. She also treasures the opportunity to bring together and collaborate with so many talented colleagues. 

She lives in Washington D.C. with her wife and business partner, Jen, and their cat. She has a degree in English & Creative Writing from George Washington University.
