Friendship Place is the premier housing service provider for people experiencing homelessness in the DC region. Our innovative, customized, person-focused programs empower participants to rebuild their lives, find homes, get jobs and reconnect with friends, family and the community, permanently. 

Our organization is proudly headed by a representative from the LGBTQ+ community, and we are committed to exceeding expectations in fostering an inclusive, diverse workforce. Many of our employees also identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. The LGBTQ+ Workgroup at Friendship Place comprises staff, participants, board members, and volunteers who are dedicated to ensuring that all our programs and services are welcoming, affirming, inclusive and safe for both LGBTQ+ community members and allies. We strive to consistently broaden our understanding, competency and sensitivity through proactive measures and advocacy.
